The Opportunity – Manager FEL Sustaining Capital and Overhauls
Based at the Innovation Campus, the Manager FEL Sustaining Capital and Overhauls the Manager FEL Sustaining Capital and Overhauls is responsible for actively participating in setting Project standards and policy across South32 for the Illawarra Coal business. This role will be responsible for the development of studies and business cases relating to the Capital & Overhaul program for the mines at Illawarra Coal, with the overall goal of increasing its value.
Key Accountabilities include:
- Timely development of studies and business case to support front end loading the capital program
- Contribute to the Study/ Project strategy, direction and goals ensuring alignment with the Business Strategy
- Build and manage a study team with the capacity to deliver Illawarra Coal’s goals
- Set up and maintain systems, tools and standards consistent with South32 standards and processes to include contract management, document control and accurate and timely cost reporting
- Deliver all aspects of the study on time and within budget to the required specifications
About You

- Engineering Degree or equivalent
- Financial analysis experience preferred
- Previous Project or Study Management experience
- Previous experience of Underground Coal Mining (preferred)
- Proven ability to work with a small group of technicians
- Exceptional understanding of Project Controls, including estimation, planning/scheduling, cost control, change management and risk management
- Experience working on projects from $2M to $50M
