The Wholesale Settlements team forms part of the Financial Operations group and is responsible for the timely and accurate settlement of all wholesale electricity, gas and renewable energy transactions, other business-related payment transactions and the accounts receivable function of the business.

About the role

In the role of Settlements Analyst your primary responsibility will be ensuring all Wholesale Settlement transactions are effectively administered in line with internal processes and market practice.

You will be responsible for;

• Ensuring accurate and timely settlement of all derivative trades, including Renewable Energy Certificate (REC) trades
• Ensuring accurate and timely settlement of all other electricity contracts, including all energy purchases, embedded generation contracts and miscellaneous invoices
• Monitoring and managing prudential requirements in the Wholesale markets
• Undertaking timely execution of meter data reconciliations/analysis
• Regularly updating the Settlements Policy and Procedures manual
• Compiling various wholesale commodities regulatory reporting
• Month end accruals to be accurate and completed in a timely manner
• Assisting the broader Finance & IT team to build and maintain end-to-end understanding of EA’s Wholesale business from supply source to end user

What we are looking for:

• Demonstrated similar experience in settlements/back office function in financial markets and/or the energy industry
• High level of proficiency with MS office i.e. advance Excel including VBA Macros, Word etc and SQL
• Graduate tertiary qualification in Accounting, Economics or Finance, or equivalent
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Effectively time management and prioritisation skills and comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment
• Familiarity with extracting and manipulating data from databases desirable
