Mine Accountant

We are currently seeking an experienced Mine Accountant to implement effective cost control solutions to maximise the business’s margin.

• Preparation of monthly payment certificates for site contractors including recognition of accruals for end of month
• Regular liaison with business units and Finance Team to ensure understanding of business performance and financial results
• Analysis of material and consumables costs presenting data on a monthly basis to management to drive cost control
• Analysis of costs for capital projects to obtain whether tracking on budget
• Assist in preparing monthly internal reporting, ensuring it is accurate and completed on time
• Assist with the budgeting and forecasting process on an annual basis
• Assist with the LOM valuation model on an annual basis
• Assist in the monthly and year end close processes
• Review and analyse business processes, re-engineer as necessary to improve efficiency, effectiveness and/or usability
• Assist in the production of robust business cases that includes options analysed and impact assessments
• Any other task as directed by your supervisor.

• Bachelor in Accounting/Finance or equivalent
• CA or CPA qualified, or working towards completion (desirable)
• Minimum five years’ experience working in an analytical role
• Prior mining experience (desirable)
• Strong report/financial commentary writing and presentation skills
• Financial Modeling Skills (NPV)
• Experience in analysing business problems, conducting gap analysis and identifying root cause
• Experience using Pronto (desirable)

This residential role is offered on a Monday to Friday roster.
