Dipping Operator – Manufacturing Process
 
Fenner Dunlop Australia Pty Ltd, part of the Michelin Group of Companies, is the world leader in the manufacture of conveyor belting for mining and industrial applications. With manufacturing plants in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth supporting 16 branches nationally, we offer a comprehensive range of products and services from the design and supply of complete conveyor solutions through to service, installation maintenance and diagnostics services.
 
Based in our Revesby factory, we have a permanent position available for Night Shift Dipping operator. We make solid woven conveyor belting which is coated in PVC, and we sell primarily to the mining industry.  
 
Safety, quality and continuous improvement are key and specific requirements include:
 
  • Operating a complex dipping machine
  • Maintain parameters within given standard and record. Adjust if they are out of specification.
  • Machine start up and shut down
  • Minor adjustments to maintain product quality
  • Trouble shooting, quality conscious and attention to detail
  • Positive attitude, punctual, reliable with good team work skills
  • Identify and rectify minor machine/equipment faults, reporting problems that cannot be rectified to the appropriate person.
  • Inspect mechanical components, documenting inspection results.
  • Complete associated production records and reports.
  • Cross training in mixing operations and inspection form part of this role.
 
 
Selection Criteria
  • A strong commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding role.
  • 3+ years’ experience working as a Manufacturing Process Operator within a Heavy Industrial Manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift licence
  • A positive, proactive attitude coupled with good communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Sound mechanical aptitude.
  • The ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Reliable with a good work ethic
  • Current/valid Australian driver’s licence.
  • Australian work rights.
 
 
What’s On Offer
  • Permanent night shift, 6pm to 4 am with 2hrs overtime until 6.00am when machine is in operation.
  • A four day work week, Monday to Thursday
  • Training provided! - will be done in the morning shift
  • $25.50 per hour plus 30% night shift loading.
