We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Management Systems Specialist reporting to the Safety Manager of Whyalla Steelworks. The key purpose of the role is to implement and reinforce the use of quality and safety management systems established for the business, and to coach & support managers in executing their responsibilities in-line with our licences and certifications. This role has oversight for the management systems, internal and external compliance, and auditing programs for the Whyalla Steelworks site.
Amongst other key responsibilities, you will promote, develop and maintain Quality and Safety Management Systems across Whyalla Steelworks to meet ISO 9001 certification requirements and Steel Safety Systems respectively. While overseeing and managing the Document Management System and IT platforms like IRMS and Intelex, you will coordinate and facilitate the safety management system, internal and external verification, auditing and compliance for Whyalla Steelworks.
Given the complexity associated with the role, this role will suit someone who likes a challenge, can multi skill and has a heavy industry/manufacturing background. As our ideal candidate, you are a tertiary qualified professional with SAI Lead Auditor certification who has a thorough and demonstrated understanding of ISO 9001 and has substantial experience in conducting internal ISO 9001 and SMS audits. Under-pinning this will be your experience and understanding in Safety Management and WHS systems & framework. As you would expect in any stakeholder management role, excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills are highly desirable.
