Fixed Plant Maintenance Shutdown Planner / Work Pack Developer

Our blue-chip client requires an experienced Trades-person / Shutdown Maintenance Planner working a 5/2 residential roster based in Kalgoorlie Western Australia.

Reporting directly to the Superintendent, you will be responsible for improving work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labour, parts and material, and equipment access.

This position requires the Person to:

• Values and leads in safety and procedures;
• Plan / Schedule identified equipment not meeting reliability/quality/rate requirements and other improvement opportunities;
• Provide Mechanical Knowledge support by the means of solutions and recommendations to our clients’ needs within the processing and mining sector.
• Be able to develop maintenance strategies.
• Analyse maintenance process effectiveness and recommend system changes;
• Add planning information to work orders and work packs (budgets, spares, tasks, labour, specialist equipment, procedures etc.);
• Review forward schedule for the identification and procurement of long lead-time supplies;
• Identify operations activities required for equipment set-up / commissioning supporting maintenance activities;
• Resource Estimation and compilation of Work Packs for Core Maintenance Mechanical Teams 
• Conduct schedule review meeting and assign tasks to eliminate equipment delays;
• Conduct daily shutdown meeting to achieve schedule compliance;
• Review and manage work Planned backlog to align with the shutdown dates;
• Review work orders approaching scheduled start date that remain unplanned and initiate planning action;
• Identify operations activities required for equipment set-up/commissioning supporting maintenance activities;
• Supervising work groups during the planned downtime;
• Candidates should have prior experience by the means of a diploma in mechanical engineering and or a trade qualification mechanical fitting with Minimum of ten (10) years in their fields; 
• Candidates should also have experience using SAP, MS Projects, Word and Excel; and
• Be able to demonstrate computer aided drafting (CAD) skills with sketch-up being the preferred program but not essential.

This is a short-based causal contact with the options for future employment. You will be a team player with strong time management and planning skills. You will be self-motivated and be passionate about safe work practices.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Minimum of 2 years proven experience in a similar role (mining industry)
• Excellent time management, organisation and communication skills
• Knowledge of project coordination / administration methodologies & tools
• Sound computer/software skills
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently when necessary
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
• Exceptional attention to detail
