The Opportunity – Specialist Gas and Vent
Based at the Innovation Campus, the Specialist Gas and Vent ensures maintenance activities on the gas plant, associated equipment and utilities are safely executed to plans and specified standards.
Key Accountabilities include:
- Manage the execution of small maintenance gas and ventilation projects within specified area across all shifts
- Ensures quality control of Maintenance Execution gas and ventilation activities of their specified area
- Reviews gas and ventilation Incident Notifications and ensures that escalation protocols are complied with
- Ensure systems for gas and ventilation stores and spares management are followed and enforce a discipline around using 1SAP for booking equipment items
- Provide technical support to gas and ventilation shift teams for resolution of root cause analysis within their area of expertise
- Ensure gas and ventilation critical controls are in place for the identified material risks within the maintenance function.
- Helps with long term gas and ventilation equipment strategies
- Conduct engineering gas and ventilation design improvements
- Conduct gas and ventilation root cause analysis investigation on equipment failure
- Provide major gas and ventilation breakdown and overhaul support
- Audit standards of gas and ventilation equipment and equipment integrity

- Ventilation Officer Certificate or higher
- Electrical or Mechanical Trade Qualifications
- 3-5 years’ experience in Underground Mining
- Undermanager/ Deputies Certificate (desired)
