The Opportunity – Specialist Electrical Standards

Based at our Dendrobium site, the Specialist Electrical Standards is to assist with providing statutory governance, guidance and control the standards, specifications, procedures, programs and technical documentation.  This role will drive the implementation of standardised systems, governance and compliance ensuring that there is a standard approach.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Adherence & governance of Standards of Engineering Practices (SEP)
  • Support and maintain a safe and healthy workplace for yourself and others that adheres to Illawarra Coal policies and other applicable laws, regulations and standards for the workplace.  If adequate laws or policies do not exist, ensure that practices adopted reflect a commitment to the highest standard in WH&S and environmental protection.
  • Ensure all allocated actions associated with safety initiatives, investigations or risk management are promptly dealt with, within the timeframes set.
  • Ensure design, operational, maintenance and construction risk assessments are carried out and actions input into the relevant control processes.

  • Undergraduate Degree or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
  • Hold (or in the process of obtaining) a practicing certificate with the Department of Resources and Energy as a Manager of Electrical Engineering.
