An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a government department environmental team in Coffs Harbour. This Environmental Officer Role attracts a great hourly rate of $43.75 per hour plus super with the possibility of a 12 month assignment.

The role

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide customer service functions including handling of enquiries and distribution of mail; act as first point of contact to customers of the Division and refer enquiries in a professional manner exercising tact and discretion.
  • Provide financial support including accounts receivable and accounts payable and ensuring compliance with public sector accounting policies, practices and statutory requirements.
  • Provide support to Regional Managers/Directors by assisting with diary management and travel arrangements.
  • Oversee the Branch/Region records management system, maintain registers, and assist with organising conferences and meetings as required.
  • Coordinate equipment and resource orders and travel arrangements, assist with organising conferences and meetings for the workgroup, collate papers and coordinate logistical requirements.
  • Assist with the provision of support and guidance to Branch/Region staff on matters which affect administration and organisational policies and assist in the delivery of administrative services.
  • Assist with the coordination and tracking of correspondence, briefing notes and other documentation across the Division and assist in drafting and preparation of correspondence, reports and related documentation.

  • Knowledge of changing governmental protocols and administration policies, processes and procedures
