About the role

We are looking for a Mining Engineer to provide technical expertise and work closely with the mining engineering and survey teams.

This role is a great opportunity to gain operational block caving, underground experience. The role is offered on a permanent basis, working a 7 days on, 7 off roster and reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer.  

Key duties and accountabilities:

• Contributing to the short and medium term planning process

• Monitoring plan compliance and ensuring that variances are appropriately actioned.

• Monitoring cave health and ensuring draw compliance

• Contributing to continuous business improvement through identifying and developing initiatives that add value to the business

• Working collaboratively within the team and with other departments as needed

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering

• Demonstrated relevant underground operational experience (metalliferous)

• Demonstrated proficiency in mine design software such as Deswik, Vulcan

• Manual C Class drivers licence

It will also be beneficial if you have:

• Expose to mine rehabilitation plans

• Block caving experience

The mine has been operating since 1983 and hasproduced more than 800 million carats of rough diamonds.
