The South Flank Project is being executed by a fully Integrated Project Team (IPT), jointly established by BHP and Fluor, consisting of employees from both organisations as well as other contracting organisations as applicable. The project has an opportunity for a suitably experienced Site Project Engineer to work as part of the Integrated Project Team, focusing on non-process infrastructure. This will be a site based role on a 15/6 roster, and presents the opportunity to join an exciting large-scale project in its early stages.
Responsibilities shall include:
- Management of project area budgets, progress monitoring and reporting.
- Scope development, control and trending of scope changes as needed.
- Review and comment on engineering designs, scope of works and documentation.
- Coordinate and respond to technical queries (TQs).
- Evaluation of contractor claims and contract close out.
- Ensuring project quality is aligned with statutory and company requirements.
- Development and assistance in control of the schedule.
- Interface with key stakeholders.
- High level of interface with the Engineering Service Providers to support delivery of all engineering and design as required for the project area.
- Tracking trends of estimated quantities for their facilities and evaluating scope and schedule impacts.
Technical Capabilities & Competencies:
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering
Position Required Competencies
- Extensive and proven Project Engineer experience on large-scale mining projects within Australia.
- Minimum of 10 years working as a Project Engineer in the resources sector, with at least 5 years on site.
Highly Desirable
- Previous Engineering experience in the iron ore sector.
- BHP project exposure would be considered highly advantageous.
