About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Buying Manager, you will manage the buying process for one of our largest portfolios – FILING. In this influential role, you’ll stay engaged by:

  • Developing our range, creating and communicating business plans for the product ranges
  • Conducting advertising/ promotional activity
  • Closely liaising with planning and inventory staff to enable monitoring and management of stock and budgeted financials
  • Liaise with store support functions to ensure all initiatives are implemented & communicated to maximise sales & margin, whilst minimising impacts on our store and CSC teams.
  • Focusing on the sustainability & ethical sourcing of our products that we buy and the high standards that we work towards.

About you:

Your well-honed cross-cultural communication skills will enable you to effectively liaise with suppliers in Asia, whilst your leadership skills will see you coach a Buyers Assistant, as a direct report.

To be successful, you will possess:

  • Minimum 5 years merchandise buying experience managing a high level of SKU's in a retail environment
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to interpret and act on market trends
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Previous experience managing and developing a buying team
  • Innovative with a keen eye for detail, whilst working in a team that drives continuous improvement.
  • Ability to build and establish strong relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers locally and also internationally
