About the Role:
Carpet One Canberra/CBI Blinds and Awnings has an exciting opportunity available for an enthusiastic and hardworking Flooring & Window Furnishing Retails Estimator to join our team.
This role would ideally suit someone who is highly motivated and willing to work hard to achieve positive sales outcomes within the business. The successful applicant would have a high understanding of the importance of customer service with the aim of delivering the best quality service to our clients. This role includes customer service, sales, on-site measuring, following through job from quote to finished job and maintaining the showroom. The successful applicant must possess proven sales experience and will need to, or have the ability to learn, to measure, draw and read plans. You will need to be a great communicator, result focused and have outstanding customer service skills. Industry experience would definitely be an advantage.
The purpose of the role is to join the front-line team, in helping clients choose from a range of flooring and window furnishings to complete a variety of builder and home-owner projects both in the showroom and on-site. Necessary training will be provided to the successful applicant and you will need to be reliable and have a willingness to work as part of an experienced but small team.
The role would also be highly suited to someone with an interest in interior design/architecture - with the ability to help clients style their interiors with our products.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Engage with clients both in-store and on-site in order to complete projects/estimates
- Review construction documents and determine scope of work pertaining to floor/window furnishings both residential and commercial
- Read, understand and analyse project drawings and specifications
- Manage multiple projects/estimates and present a high level of organisation to meet strict deadlines
- Continually organise (and reorganise) workload in a logical, priority-based sequence
- Proactively communicate internally and externally using courteous and professional techniques (written and verbal)
- Be nice, work hard, and have fun
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Prior experience in a similar role or extensive proven industry sales experience
- Experience reading/drawing plans
- Ability to measure, follow up and complete quotes
- Knowledge and experience in commercial and domestic flooring/window furnishings
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage time effectively
- Computer proficiency (including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite)
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong verbal communication skills

Requirements:
- Current Australian Driver's License
- Ability to work in Australia
- Required to work a 10.5 day fortnight (Monday-Friday and every second Saturday)
