About the role...

This is an epic opportunity for an Apparel Buyer to join our Buying team. The role is permanent, full-time and is located at HQ in Port Melbourne. It is for our Ladieswear category. The role has a focus on increasing sale and profit margins in each product category. You will manage the sales, margins and product performance to achieve Gross Profit. Your day to day activities are varied and include negotiating with suppliers on cost and delivery, reviewing their service as required. The Buyer will also prepare product for advertising submissions, supporting the 12 month Go to Market Calendar and VM plan. It is essential for this role to have accurate forward projections of sales and margin within each department and this role will drive this and the activities that ensure this occurs.

So, what are we looking for?...
Ideally you will have demonstrated experience in a buying role, along with tertiary qualifications. This background will allow you to hit the ground running, ensuring your analytical skills shine through your delivery of achieving gross profit and margin, aligned with budgets.  The role has stakeholders both internally and externally, so we are seeking those who have great communication skills and can build these relationships. You will also have an Assistant Buyer reporting into you and will need to support them on a day to day basis.
