Our Papua New Guinean client is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Store Manager to lead a large team of 300 staff in the country’s capital of Port Moresby.

Working in a rapidly changing industry, the Store Manager is on the frontline, managing the organisation’s retail operations hands-on.  We are seeking a leader who is able to manage and direct in order to achieve organisational objectives in the region and maintain the organisation’s industry-leading brand status.

 In this role you will; 

  • Manage store operations, including strategic plans, budgets, stock and staffing requirements;
  • Provide store performance reports to senior management;
  • Develop and implement store-specific sales, staffing and operations plans;
  • Lead and inspire a large team of retail professionals;
  • Proactively seek opportunities for growth and self-development;
  • Build networks an develop relationships with both internal and external parties;
  • Develop and implement local business strategies
 Does this sound like you? 

  • 10+ years’ experience working at a management level in retail operations (previous supermarket experience will be required for this role)
  • Strong experience managing large teams of staff
  • Experience in a New Zealand retail setting
  • Strategic and conceptual thinker
  • Sound business and financial acumen
  • Problem solver who takes action
  • Strong management and leadership skills
This role will be offered on a residential basis, with a competitive salary and expatriate benefits. Please note that the ability to practice effective intercultural communication and understanding will be essential in this position.
