We are a dynamic family owned company operating independent supermarkets in the Central West and Riverina areas of New South Wales. With a focus on fresh food, our vision is to deliver an exceptional shopping experience for our customers through quality produce, everyday lower prices and by supporting local growers and businesses. We are now seeking a motivated and passionate Produce Manager to lead our produce team in our Wagga store.
About the Role:
This full-time position of Produce Manager requires a highly organised and capable individual who is responsible for the overall performance and operations of the produce department. Ensuring the highest quality shopping experience by delivering a high standard of product, whilst engaging effectively with customers to maximise sales and profit through effective planning, merchandising and inventory control
Attention to detail is essential and the successful candidate will have an important role to play in the success of our business, ensuring department appearance, customer service and operational functions are first class every day
Responsibilities:
- Outstanding customer service standards
- High standards in visual presentation and store standards
- Inventory management including ordering, cutting, packing, weighing and display
- Quality and safety duties including receiving, inspecting and storing of product, whilst also maintaining date and rotation of products
- Profit and loss management, including sales, gross profit and shrinkage budgets/targets
- Personnel cost management, including rostering
- Lead and provide ongoing support, training and development for your team
What we need from you:
- Previous produce experience
- Across seasonal and local produce trends
- Customer service focused
- Ability to engage, mentor and lead a team
- Understanding of supermarket best practice including P&L management, inventory & merchandising
- Excellent communication skills
