This role is for a self-starter who exhibits positive behaviours in all activities and is able to lead and develop an enthusiastic team to ensure a positive culture.  The role will assume control and responsibility for all daily activities relating to the location and will lead and develop a small team to ensure they meet set targets.  This role will also become the safety ambassador upholding company OHS&E policies and safety standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Opening and closing the store, banking, stock ordering and co-ordinating the activities of workers concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, inventorying, issuing and shipping materials, supplies, tools equipment and parts in stockroom, warehouse or yard by performing the following duties:

  • Planning the layout of the stockroom, warehouse and other storage areas;
  • Advising employees on care and preservation of items;
  • Recording and recommending remedial actions for reported non-usable, slow moving, and excess stock;
  • Reviewing records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures to determine adequacy of stock levels;
  • Scheduleing work for special and periodic inventories;
  • Tracing the history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records;
  • Determining work procedures and preparing work schedules;
  • Issuing written and verbal instructions;
  • Assigning and examining work for accurateness;
  • Studying and standardizing procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of people and processes;
  • Maintaining harmony amongst the team;
  • Preparing composite reports and individual reports on subordinates;
  • Adjusting errors and complaints.

  • Flexibility and adaptability;
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interests, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry;
  • Familiarity with accounting, inventory, procurement and database software, MS Excel, Word and Outlook.

Experience:

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of both education and experience.
