The Company & The Role
A well-known rapidly expanding Global Homewares retailer is currently on the hunt for a Allocator to join the Merchandise team based out of their St Kilda Rd head office. Reporting into the Planning Manager, this exciting, dynamic & challenging role will be responsible for allocation, replenishment & inventory management activities for a 150+ global retail store network.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Maintain appropriate stock levels in stores via weekly replenishment ensuring the right product mix and depth
- Maintain store grades, replenishment parameters and allocation tools
- Manage stock requirements in store in line with the promotional & marketing calendar through generation of promotional orders
- Assist in planning initial allocations for new store openings
- Allocate to agreed timelines and ensure delivery targets are met
- Maintain new store opening master
- Assist with weekly sales, stock & ad hoc reporting and analysis and purpose action plans
- Assist with reporting on promotional results
- Assist with formulating action plans to maximize sales
- Liaise with the Regional Sales Managers & store teams to identify stock issues and opportunities
- Provide weekly delivery and stock allocation updates to the Planning & Merchandise team
The Candidate
To be successful in this role you must have:
- At least 3 years retail experience in a head office environment, ideally in an Allocation or Planning Assistant role, preferably with Kitchen/Table top related products
- An analytical mind, exceptional attention to detail & a sense of urgency
- Proven ability to make sound business decisions & be a keen problem solver
- A thorough understanding of the importance of having product mix & depth, in the right store at the right time to optimize sales potential
- Excellent attention to detail and be able to identify potential problems before they become wider issues
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced excel skills, this is a must
- Ability to demonstrate through the use of data and analysis recommendations and can also measure effectiveness
- You are highly customer service focused
- You’re able to work in a fast paced environment that’s constantly evolving, so time management, flexibility, and adaptability are essential
- Ability to quickly learn new systems
