About the business and the role
Our client is a high profile retailer highly regarded for both mens and womenswear.
An outstanding opportunity exists to join the ladies team as a right hand assistant to a senior buyer, where you will take responsibility for coordination of all product development, and design, covering Ladies Denim Bottoms and Pants as well as Wovens.
Job tasks and responsibilities
You will be responsible for
- Facilitating and managing the production flow of product and all samples/fabrics from suppliers to head office
- Ensuring you coordinate product from sample approval to delivery
- Ensuring all deadlines and targets are met
- Maintain product line details including descriptions
- Manage the sourcing of trims,
- Monitor production process with suppliers
- Attend all fit sessions contributing to the approval of fit blocks and the suitability of fabrics and accessories for styling
- Ensure accurate details are taken and fit points recorded to take action
- Working closely with the buyer to ensure the range is developed and delivered on time and to the highest level of quality
Skills and experience
The ideal candidate will come from a strong fashion retail background within a buying department and ideally have a strong background or knowledge of garment construction and design.
We prefer a background in Fashion Retail Product or Supply Coordinator experience Excellent Product Development or design skills
- Experience dealing with manufacturers and suppliers with sound abilities in liaison and dealing with suppliers to ensure that all deadlines are met
- Experience in working in a team environment
- Experience in Denim Apparel is preferred
- Understanding of Fashion, Design, Garment Construction,
- High attention to detail
- Excellent Computer skills on all Microsoft office programs
- Experience in Photoshop and illustrator would be highly regarded
