About the business and the role
R & J Batteries is Australia's fastest growing battery company. We have now become a true force throughout Australia in the supply of batteries for all applications including automotive, commercial, motorcycle, marine, deep cycle, solar and industrial batteries.
As a result of business growth, the position of Battery Retail and Trade Counter Sales has become available in our Truganina Store.
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the primary objective of this position is to deliver sales for the Company through the provision of excellent customer service and thorough product knowledge. This position requires a willingness to work as part of a team. Opportunity for overtime, as this position may include work outside of normal trading hours.
A level of physical fitness is needed as the role requires lifting heavy items.
Hours: 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday
Job tasks
You will be responsible for:
- Sales of batteries/lubricants in person and phone.
- Exercising excellent communication when speaking with customers.
- Processing customer sales invoices to ensure timely delivery.
- Picking and packing of customer orders for delivery or pick up.
- Maintain displays, cleanliness and tidiness of Showroom.
- Restocking warehouse when required.
- Assist with battery charging, warranty battery testing as required.
- Participation in stock takes.
- Picking orders and delivering product in company delivery vehicle when required.
- Battery fitment where required
About YOU
- You will have previous experience within a retail/trade environment and the ability to work under pressure.
- You have a proven record of great customer service.
- You have a keen eye for detail and memory for part numbers and processes.
- You have effective communication skills both verbal and written.
- You are physically FIT and healthy as heavy lifting is involved(successful applicants will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, as the job involves some repetitive lifting).
- You have a good knowledge of safe working practices including safe manual handling and are willing to do manual lifting and picking/packing orders.
- You have basic computer skills.
- Have a great sense of Humour!
