An exciting opportunity now exists for a Store Manager to join our Midland Gate store which is scheduled to open in late August 2018.
The Role
As the Store Manager you will lead all activities in the store. Primarily, you will oversee the achievement and maximisation of store sales results and ensure that our current high standards of customer service are continuously improved. Experience in managing a large retail store for a national or international brand is essential to succeed in this challenging, varied and highly critical role. You will be passionate about our products, people and ensuring that we provide an excellent in-store customer service experience. Reporting to the Regional Business and Development Manager, you will lead and inspire the store team to achieve business and regional goals. This also includes:
- Driving business results with complete responsibility for the store’s P&L, maximising sales and gross profit whilst controlling expenses
- Maintaining an absolute focus on driving sales through our team, products and services
- Promoting a culture of customer service excellence by motivating and encouraging the store team to continuously improve their existing skills, whilst learning developing new skills
- Ensuring that our team embodies our customer value proposition – to be the ‘well-read people of Dymocks’
- Facilitating the training and succession planning of high potential team members, preparing them for promotion to meet business demands
- Maximising results from catalogues, promotions and VIP nights by following up the effective tie-up of these key events
- Ensuring that monthly marketing campaigns are executed on time and to specification
- Ensuring a powerfully merchandised store with high visual impact that will drive sales
- Strategically planning the stores operations and activities, in order to maximise sales
The Successful Applicant
- Large retail store management experience for a national or international brand
- Passionate about sales and service
- Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about books
- Considerable people management experience
- Proficient at balancing multiple requirements
- Highly organised with an eye for detail
- Excellent communicator with endless enthusiasm
