Introduction

Altona Local mobile (Trading as 'yes' Optus Altona Gate) is a licensed retail Optus store.

The principal function of Altona local mobiles is to promote and sell the products and services of Optus. As a sales consultant, it is your responsibility to assist Yes Optus Altona Gate to achieve this objective. As part of the sales team you will be required to behave and perform in a professional manner, striving to achieve set individual and team goals as well as provide a premium level of customer service to our customers.

As part of Optus we are committed to the 'yes' Optus sales programs and strives to lead the field. The following points are guidelines to assist in achieving these goals;

Responsibilities

You are responsible for the day to day situations and challenges occurring in the store. You will use your skill, experience and knowledge to manage these day to day tasks effectively, professionally and efficiently.

You are directly responsible to promote and sell all the products and services of 'yes' Optus in the most profitable way possible. You will use your initiative to usefully occupy yourself throughout the day, and attend to issues as they present themselves. You will diligently and reliably carry out your regular duties, and any additional tasks allocated to you.

Uniform

As a condition of employment, you are required to wear a uniform. This uniform will be provided to you including a name badge. It is your responsibility to maintain the uniform in a neat, clean and tidy manner. All uniform components remain the property of Altona Local Mobiles . When wearing the uniform, your behaviour will be impeccable.

Appearance

As a Sales Consultant, you are the front door to Optus. In this role you will always present yourself for work in the appropriate physical condition and state of mind.

Training

Training is provided as an ongoing function of 'yes' Optus. You will be required to attend training sessions, product launches and sales meetings to enable you to have the best possible skills. As a Sales Consultant for Altona Local Mobiles, you have become part of a professional sales team, whose primary focus is on selling and providing exceptional service.

It is expected that you will choose to expand your selling skills using your own resources and time, in addition to those provided by Altona local mobiles and 'yes' Optus. This will be done with the cooperation and support of Altona local mobiles.

Security

You will always be aware of the security risk in the retail environment. At all times you will be vigilant to prevent the loss or damage to person, stock, property and money. You will report any security breaches to the Store Manager.

Superior

Your immediate superior is the Store Manager, and that is the person whom to your report. If you are unable to report to that person, you may then report to the Owner.

Probation

In the position of Sales Consultant, you are an essential part of a tight sales team. It is imperative that the job and environment suits you, and that you suit the company and colleagues. With this in mind, an initial 3 month probation period is enforced. A permanent position is offered on the basis of you achieving your KPIs, Sales Targets and a successful review. At any time in this period, either party may terminate the employment.

Reviews

Your performance and development will be reviewed monthly, quarterly and annually, or as required by management. You will be subject to independent assessments by agents of Optus.

Alternate Employment

If you are employed by Altona local mobiles it is our policy that you declare any other employment to us as it is expected that you will commit all your resource to your position.

Conflict of Interest

While in the employment of Altona local mobiles you will never place yourself in a position where a conflict of interest could or would arise. Employment, or dealing with another telecommunications company, approaches to you by other telecommunications companies and offering products and services offered by 'yes' Optus are all examples of conflict of interest

If for any reason a conflict of interest arises, you must immediately notify your superior. This includes you or your spouse/partner being employed by another telecommunications company.

Confidentiality

All information and knowledge acquired by you is strictly confidential. You are obligated by both Privacy and Telecommunications legislation to keep all customer details confidential. Altona local mobiles require you to keep any information you acquire, either in normal course of business or by accident absolutely private and confidential. Any breaches of confidentiality will be treated harshly.

All customer records, equipment specifications, work processes or any information learned or gained whilst employed by Altona local mobiles remains the property of either 'yes' Optus or Altona local mobiles and any attempt to procure, profit from or distribute will be met with the full force of the law. This also continues after employment has ceased.

Standards

As part of a franchise/license company, it is your responsibility to be aware of and adhere to all standards issued by 'yes' Optus and Altona local mobiles. At all times you will strive to provide the highest level of customer service possible.

Remuneration and Commissions

As this position includes customer service responsibilities, as well as sales, a retainer is paid alongside a commission structure. It is expected that all duties and responsibilities required of you will be executed under this pay structure. The commissionable pay rates and basis will change from time to time, to reflect changes in the products, emphasis and the market place we operate in. You will be paid directly into a bank account nominated by you on a fortnightly basis and commission will be paid into the same account on a monthly basis.

Budgets/Sales Targets

You will have Sales Budgets set for all products and services offered by 'yes' Optus. Failure to achieve these set Sales Budgets on a regular basis could lead to termination of employment.

KPIs

Key Performance Indicators are used to measure your performance in particular, and possibly non-tangible aspects of the business. KPIs can be directly linked to your commission and bonus remunerations.

Hours

As this job is in a retail environment, you are expected to work normal retail trading hours. This involves late nights, weekends and public holidays. All attempts are made to ensure the allocation of days off is fair and equitable to all staff. Special requested for specific days off will be accommodated where possible.

Superannuation

Superannuation is paid at 9.5% of gross wage.

Holidays

20 Days Annual Leave is available to all staff after completing 1 year of employment. (Pro-Rated for Part Time) All requests for annual leave must be applied for in writing with adequate notice.

Personal Leave

You are entitled to 5 sick days in your first 12 month employment period. It is a requirement that any personal leave taken is accompanied with a medical certificate. The Store Manager or Owner must be notified immediately when a staff member knows they will be absent.
