Launceston City Mission is seeking an energetic and experienced Retail worker for a full-time Assistant Manager position in one of our largest shops. Saturday work included.
Essential Qualifications/Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Experience with EFTPOS and POS terminals.
- Demonstrated initiative, thinking and planning.
- Strong relationship building, communication and analytical skills.
- Skills in supervision, reporting and sales budgets.
- Ability to multi-task, plan and manage people & processes to effectively achieve outcomes.
- Experienced in WHS in a variety of work environments.
- Demonstrated capacity to supervise paid staff and volunteer workforce.
- Physically fit to transfer donations (cartons and furniture) to transport and showrooms.
- National Police Check is required for all roles at LCM.
Desirable:
- Experience in developing and achieving assigned goals within an organisational framework.
- Working with Vulnerable People Card (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience or demonstrated capacity to work in an organisation adopting a Christian ethos.
The position is required to assist in the management of the staff and operations of a Mission Retail Shop in the delivery of quality retail goods and service, and requires the employee to develop positive working relationships with peers, management, the general public, stakeholders and other functional areas within the organisation.
Primarily, the Assistant Manager Retail will be responsible for assisting the Shop Manager with: staff management of the nominated shop, providing leadership to workers (paid and volunteer), oversight of cash management, security measures and staff training, facilitation of quality customer service to achieve budget targets, and overseeing merchandising.
This is a Full-time position and salary will be based on the General Retail Industry Award 2010, with the capacity for Salary Sacrifice.
