They now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Control and Systems Manager to join their team as part of the company's growth expansion in 2018 and beyond.  Reporting to the Buying and Product Development Manager, you will have overall responsibility for developing and implementing Quality processes, practices, systems and controls for the wider business in order to evaluate, monitor and determine compliances and corrective actions so products are fit for purpose, safe and of the highest quality standards.

A hint of what this role entails:

  • Develop, implement and manage quality control system activities
  • Conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance
  • Monitor product performance through data collection and taking key steps to improve a products performance
  • Work closely with overseas suppliers to ensure quality procedures and specifications are consistent and are implemented and enforced
  • Work alongside the Buying, Purchasing, Marketing and Warehouse teams at all stages of the New Product Development process to establish and ensure quality requirements are met and quality is not compromised
  • Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards and in particular the Australian Packaging Covenant
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and distributors
  • International travel

The type of candidate we are looking for:

  • At least 5-10 years experience in a similar role
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Demonstrated ability to implement, lead and manage all aspects of the quality control process
  • Experienced in quality testing, control and inspection procedures
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Australian Packaging Covenant
  • Strong numerical, analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Strong commercial acumen and savvy negotiation skills
  • Works with a sense of urgency, and can apply creative problem-solving techniques
  • Can work under pressure and prioritise competing interests to meet deadlines in a changing environment
  • Has excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to influence stakeholders across the organisation
  • A positive, resilient, robustness can-do attitude and work ethic
  • Able to work well in a team as well as independently
  • Proficiency to write and speak Mandarin Chinese is desirable, but not essential
