We are seeking an experienced Buyer to join our Merchandise Team based in our Store Support Office in North Geelong. Later this year we will be moving to a brand new purpose built facility in Williams Landing in Melbourne with flexible support in the interim to work between Geelong and Melbourne hot desk offices.
About our Role
Reporting to the Business Manager, the key focus in this role is to work collaboratively with your team and stakeholders to build assortment plans to drive sales and profitability.
Other key responsibilities may include:
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to establish the appropriate balance of fashion, basics and quality to drive volume growth
- Work collaboratively with the Planner to develop effective 3 year category plan, merchandise plans and line plans to deliver strategy
- Own and deliver the product range from its development through to store execution
- Work collaboratively with the Designer on Product Development and Range Management
- Partner with the Planner to develop tactics in response to current trading results including managing an accurate reforecast process
- Implement clear pricing architecture to sell volume
- Lead the end to end critical path to ensure launch dates are met
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in commerce or business and be able to demonstrate their strong working experience as a Buyer within a vertical retailer. Detailed understanding of the product development and manufacturing process is essential as is demonstrated ability to execute a supplier and sourcing strategy along with solid financial, numerical and analytical skills and excellent communication skills.
