Due to an internal restructure we now have an opportunity for an experienced Account Manager to join our Buying team. Reporting to the Senior Account Manager, you will mentor and provide guidance to Junior Account Managers to ensure supplier and company needs are met. You are responsible for developing relationships with suppliers to acquire new business and network with existing suppliers to retain their business by negotiating pricing, securing campaigns and ensuring bestselling and compelling product assortments are offered in order to set the company apart.

The Account Manager oversees the programming of online sales in their category, manages accounts, manages budgets and prepares sale forecasts and reports. Meets and liaises with suppliers and negotiates purchases that match the company targets and standards. Analyses sales and reports to ensure effective account and sales management. Works with all departments pre and post sale, merchandisers and marketing teams to optimize sales and profitability to target markets.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Management of brand accounts to grow revenues and maintain supplier relationships
  • Product selection based on sale analysis
  • Forward planning with brands
  • Planning the monthly sales calendar to budget
  • Scheduling sales with our suppliers and merchandising team
  • Negotiate prices and product
  • Keep up to date with category trends
  • Maximise sales opportunities by working with marketing on promotions and social networking
  • Attend to the supplier’s needs
  • Responsible for the financial performance of their category
  • Present new category recommendations to help grow your supplier account
  • Regularly reviewing performance indicators, e.g. sales and discount levels
  • Liaising with other departments within the organisation to ensure sales and projects are completed
  • Writing reports and forecasting sales levels
  • Expected to travel locally and potentially interstate to meet brands

​​​​​​Who we’re looking for:

  • Experience as an Account Manager in a retail discipline for at least 5+years
  • Would also suit a current Buyer
  • Strong understanding of on-line sales environment
  • Confidence & strong networking skills with existing connections in the industry.
  • Strong Understanding of buying and merchandising financials, able to drive profitable outcomes
  • Strong Excel skills, a head for numbers & the ability analyse and draw conclusions.
  • Able to make decisions quickly, in a fast paced work environment
  • An excellent communicator
