Le Pine Funerals has been providing funeral services to families in Victoria from our funeral homes in Melbourne for over 125 years, since we first started in 1891. We are privileged to be able to help families celebrate and honour the lives and values of loved ones every day. 

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Area Manager to lead a specific group of locations, within the Eastern Melbourne Region in the Victorian business. This is a new and exciting opportunity for a proven people leader and results driven manager to drive excellence across locations, within the area and within the community. This role is perfect for a highly involved and motivational leader to work closely on the business, hand in hand with the Location Managers and the local teams. Using a mature outlook and vivacious energy you will drive and deliver the best customer service standards in a complex and sensitive working environment to customers often in their most difficult time.

The Area Manager will also focus on driving great customer service together with inspiring high performing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Through demonstrated leadership drive and maintain and excellent workplace culture of responsiveness, innovation, collaboration, recognition and motivation.
  • People management, mentoring and coaching through employee engagement and succession planning.
  • Audit, monitor and assist local leaders to deliver the financial performance of each location across key KPI's
  • Ensure that a safety culture is developed and maintained throughout each location
  • Maintain a hands - on role for service delivery and active participation in an occasional on call, after hours roster.

To be considered for this role you must have the following ‘essential criteria’:

  • Demonstrated management experience in a multi-site or even non-multi-site management in a fast paced and sensitive environment.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills to ensure effective people, operational and financial management.
  • Business acumen to influence at all levels across our business as well as establishing community engagement.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and develop a high performing team.
  • Effective decision making and analytical skills.
  • Customer service orientation and ability to drive sales through successful teams.
  • Ability to work in a sensitive and unique and rewarding working environment, that provides essential services to our clients in their time of need.
  • Lead from the front by actively participating on funeral service delivery as needed, alongside your teams as well as an after hour roster.

Applicants who hold tertiary qualification and or experience within the funeral industry will be highly regarded, however not essential.
