About The Role
Woolworths Group has recently entered a Convenience, Food Supply and Loyalty Alliance and new 15-year Wholesale Fuel arrangement with Caltex Australia. This in turn has created a number of exciting opportunities focused on supply of products and food. This Category Manager role is one of the newly created roles available!
As the Category Manager B2B, you will engage with internal teams and customers while leading sourcing activities for the supply of B2B goods and services enterprise-wide.
This will be achieved by understanding overall customer needs, developing and managing category strategies and sourcing events to reduce total costs, ensure value for money and provide high levels of service and compliance with policies, standards and best practice.
Responsible for managing relationships with key supply partners to ensure that Woolworths / Caltex effectively leverages its joint strategies, to ensure that maximum value is extracted over the contract term.
A summary of additional responsibilities will include, however not be limited to:

Lead and drive the development of category plans in conjunction with key stakeholders.

Develop a comprehensive understanding of all category influencers and become the business- wide category subject matter expert.

Anticipate, negotiate and execute commercial opportunities.

Understand priorities and manage Procurement activities.

Develop 1 -3 year category plans aligned to overall Procurement strategy

Identify procurement activity stakeholders and influence them as required to achieve desired outcomes, up to Senior Management / Divisional Head level.

Build and maintain momentum and consistency with regards to key stakeholder engagement.

Develop, implement and manage vendor performance metrics, documents and reporting as part of a Supplier Relationship Management plan.

Anticipate and execute contract-based opportunities.

Manage the central repository for contracts, including activity planning and the timely execution of contracts.

Obtain data from varied sources to identify and support fact-driven opportunities. Ensure analysis is accurate, comprehensive and robust.

Conduct market analysis to drive category strategies.

Conduct risk analysis and take action as required.
About You
Together with the demonstrated success in a similar role, we are seeking the following skills and experience:

Experience a retail buying environment with responsibility for a range of products and promotional activity essential - Convenience market experience a bonus.

Ability to define plans and shape initiatives through setting strategic direction and tactics for the business unit.

Experience and success in negotiating with individuals or groups that are extremely important for the organisations future.

Strong commercial and business acumen
