About the role

Job Purpose

This person will be responsible for complete management of designated product line(s): product development, sales support & training, promotional activities, forecast, inventory and operations performance (capacity, cost, pricing, etc.), long-term planning, budget planning. 

Also, this person will be responsible for collecting and analyzing data to evaluate existing and potential product and markets. Identify and monitor competitors and research market conditions or changes in the industry that may affect sales. Utilize the data obtained to collaborate with the inside/outside sales team and agents to formulate plans to focus resources on improving sales and gaining a competitive advantage. This includes research on new product development, pricing, and industry changes. 

Key Responsibilities 
 

  • Product Development: field visits, meet with customers (distributors, installers, specifiers, end-users), initiate research with engineering & operations, etc. to maintain a constant flow of new products and product enhancements.
  • Marketing & Sales Support: Prepare major launch collateral (sell sheets, instruction sheets, internal & external communications) at sales events (e.x. National Sales Conference, Trade Shows), support pricing strategy, initiate & respond to training & support on-going sustaining initiatives.
  • Operational performance: prepare and lead monthly S&OP meetings for designated product line, monitor & act on inventory levels, production capacity, service rates, and production costs to meet or beat corporate targets
  • Long-term planning: lead the long term vision for designated product line, ensuring sustainable revenue growth, market share and profitability; maintain high awareness and research of market trends and competitive activity.
  • Budget planning: monitor & review product line performance & trends to evaluate budget
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required.

Skills and experience

  • Experience with data & communication hardware, standards and installations procedure.
  • Min 1+ years' experience in product management, developing, driving and executing product line strategic plans for new product introduction and new feature implementation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent project management skills, including demonstrated ability to develop and manage to a project plan, establish priorities, work to deadlines and control a number of projects at various stages of work.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software. Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Be an effective listener, able to maintain focus, extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.
  • Have a demonstrated ability to understand customer's needs and identify new ways to serve/satisfy customer.
  • Highly collaborative and able to work in a team based environment. Promotes an environment that is encourages cohesiveness and fosters trust and open communication with team, peers and all business partners.
  • Solid business acumen and understanding of a variety of functional areas within the business.
  • Proficient in negotiation and influencing skills.
