Where we play?

WooliesX Hub is based 2 minutes walk from Central station and walking distance from all the cafes and restaurants that Surry Hills has to offer. The brand new site has been designed to support flexible working with different spaces for different activities such as collaboration, brainstorming or just chilling out.

While you will be primarily based at Surry Hills there will be a need to commute to our Norwest Office in Bella Vista on a weekly basis.

What we are looking for?

A highly motivated, high performance individual who is passionate about the retail industry and has demonstrated ability to develop, execute and optimise the BIG W BTL Customer Direct Communication Strategy , whilst delivering strong returns for the business within budget.

The roles key objectives include:

  • Design, implement and manage a successful Direct Marketing communication plan and contact strategy – delivering targeted campaigns and offers, across multiple segments, and a variety of channels, to key commercial outcomes and business objectives.

  • Drive incremental revenue and share of wallet growth in BIG W, via Direct Communication and Targeted Media channels to achieve strategic business objective .

  • Lead effective integration between loyalty and BIG W teams, and alignment to strategic objectives.

  • Define and develop Direct Marketing strategies that will meet strategic objectives on budget. Ongoing management and ownership of the BIG W loyalty communication strategy and ensure alignment to budget.

  • Planning & management of allocated budget.

  • Effective allocation of a proportion of budget and resource to Test & Learn initiatives, which do not impact achievement of annual performance targets.

  • Ensures that financial goals are met or exceeded, including return on investment.

  • Development of business cases to ensure commercial viability of all activity and forecast return.

  • Prepares annual business plans for the development/implementation of key Marketing strategies.

  • Management of 1 to 2 employees, providing coaching, direction and leadership

  • Ensure alignment with key stakeholders and functions when building marketing strategies including ensuring all senior stakeholders and commercial teams are engaged as required.

You will need to have:

  • 6+ years experience in Direct/Digital Marketing, Direct Response, CRM, or Data Driven Marketing roles in a retail context, combined with 4+ years Brand Marketing or Trade Marketing experience.

  • Experience in creating, developing and leading successful strategies and contact plans, in a retail context, to budget.

  • Demonstrated experience in business casing and forecast/budget management

  • Experience or exposure to Account Management practices and systems.

  • Experience or exposure to stakeholder management, both internal and external.

  • Demonstrable experience in managing highly successful multi-channel direct marketing campaigns.

  • Experience in reportinging and presenting results to key stakeholders.

  • Well-developed commercial acumen and proven ability to develop accurate business cases and activity plans that met or exceeds revenue/cost hurdles.

  • Experience in digital advertising principles, including programmatic media buying, targeted/paid social media advertising, paid search and SEO.

  • Proven experience in developing Test & Learn frameworks, and driving conversion rates across multiple channels.

  • Proven experience in leading and mentoring a team.

  • Tertiary qualified in relevant discipline (Business/Commerce/Marketing etc.).
