Your new company
Join a well known federal government department as an integral member of their established Communications Team as an APS6 Internal Communications Specialist to work across both corporate and project requirements.

Your new role
As the APS6 Internal Communications Specialist you'll be responsible for working with business areas to identify, develop, create and implement new internal communication strategies to promote and support staff across a range of activities.

You'll be responsible for providing a wide range of experience, knowledge and skills, including, but not limited to:

• Implementing and updating new and existing internal communication strategies
• Developing a range of communication materials to promote new project requirements and promote strong and effective working relationships with internal program teams and executive staff
• Working with an established, yet small team to provide communication support and services
• Providing communication support to the Transformation Project and Corporate Communications Section as required

What you'll need to succeed
Proven experience with excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to provide strategic communication advice, time management and organisational skills with the ability to manage complex projects is essential to hit the ground running in this exciting contract.

In addition to this, you'll also have the ability and capability to;

• Provide flexibility, initiative and organisational skills to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment
• Have proven ability to work as part of a team or independently

• Demonstrate highly developed issues management skills
• Proven experience managing staff and engaging, managing and negotiating with internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications or suitable (over 3 years ideally within the public sector) experience in communication, journalism, public relations and/or marketing is highly desirable.

What you'll get in return
This is an exciting contract which will allow you to further develop your internal communication skills across both corporate and project environments on an initial 6 month contract with the option to extend for a further 6 months.

You'll also have the opportunity to see project requirements through from conception to implementation.
