The Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (AusIMM) is the peak body for professionals in the resources sector. We are a not for profit, member-based professional association.
This position reports to the Senior Manager, Events and works alongside the events team to deliver a high-quality program of events. The Event Coordinator is responsible for the end-end management of selected conferences in consultation with relevant committees and internal stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- End-end event management including:
- online registration database
- abstract and program management
- sponsorship and exhibition sales and relationship building
- conference logistics, venue, AV, catering, entertainment, travel arrangements
- management of conference budget and finances
- Prepare and distribute marketing material, items include: websites, advertisements, registration, emails and invitations
- Meeting delegate, sponsorship and income targets
- Management of conference committees including attending committee meetings, distributing agendas and minutes and providing event specific advice
- Maintain and develop accurate files, budgets, critical paths and project plans in order to adhere to deadlines & budgets
Experience required:
- Demonstrated event and conference management experience, preferably with EventsAIR database
- Proven analytical and negotiation skills
- Experience managing multiple priorities simultaneously
- Ability to work with and guide internal and external groups to meet the goals of their events
- Strong negotiating skills
