The Position
This exciting role involves management of product portfolios, providing strategic marketing direction and the establishment/maintenance of our consumer offer. In support of profitable sales and market share growth, this role demands the application of sound category management principles including driving promotional opportunities that optimize category presence and brand development across the hardware/tools side of the buisness.
- Taking ownership of concept through to consumer delivery
- Develop business cases for new range offers and co-ordinate seasonal promotions
- Sales and margin analysis
- Gather and analyse competitor information
- Prepare, collate and maintain a range of planning and communication documents
- Maintain costs and/or pricing data
- Assume ownership of brand portfolios
- Work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing and Supply Chain to successfully launch products and branded ranges
- Identify areas for product / process enhancements and execute through to completion
- Deliver product information and selling aides to assist the sales team
The Candidate
We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, commercial and creative merchant who is both a team player and results driven.
- Experience as a dynamic Product Manager with at least 3 years experience ideally in hardware or garden tool related categories
- Experience in product and range development, sourcing and marketing
- Effective communication and influencing skills
- Strong commercial and analytical skills applied to sales and ranging strategy
- Proven ability to evaluate market opportunities, creating strategies and product plans accordingly
