The Team

This Marketing & Events Specialist position will sit within WorldRemit’s marketing team reporting to our Head of Marketing. You will support and execute initiatives designed to promote WorldRemit in Australia, New Zealand and rest of APAC where required (Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong) through activities including but not limited to community relations, events and social media. The role will require some local travel.

Key aspects of the role will include (but not limited to):
Creation of a master database of events and potential partners:

  • List of all possible events (that are viable) in ANZ with immigrants with a focus on our key corridors and diasporas/target audience
  • Identify and track all possible 360 partners – events or organizations we can partner with to have coverage at events, on their websites and print portals through working with our local agency and own ideas.

Assisting in the research, planning and execution of the Australia and NZ events strategy

  • Work with Head of APAC to develop quarterly plans and what events we should be attending. Execute on quarterly plans with a full 360 view on the campaigns.
  • Negotiating with vendors
  • Managing the sourcing and inventory of merchandise
  • Managing events list and all event execution with the Agency
  • Working with HQ to create event specific materials such as flyers and banners with online support.
  • Liaising directly with event organizers and / or any agencies we hire on planning and logistics
  • Attending and overseeing the execution of events

Contribution to the community engagement strategy:

  • Actively creating and maintaining a database of key community leaders
  • Master list of AU Embassies / Consulates and Community organizations
  • By Priority corridor, focusing on core target audience
  • Work with team to execute the community engagement strategy, ultimately driving referrals and acquisitions
  • Research a list of events that we can be present at depending on target audience
  • Execute on strategy Implementation plans whilst always keeping an eye of how we can increase customers

Monthly competitor analysis & monitoring

  • Insight gathering from competitor activity in the region on what they are hearing from customers and at events.

Overall team support on any marketing initiatives for ANZ including:

  • Social media, influencers and online support 
  • Desk research 
  • Post-meeting reports (where required) and assisting Post Implementation reviews for campaigns
  • Coordination with HQ / vendors 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Around 2 or 3 years’ experience
  • Experience in evaluating and reporting skills to be able to measure the various campaigns and their impact on the audience
  • Willing to learn and progress with ambition for the best quality of output.
  • Work under instruction and work autonomy
  • On ocassion be willing to work late hours as you may have meetings with the UK from time to time
  • Have the ability to multi-task and be able to work to tight deadlines
