About the Team
The Media Customer Marketplace team supports and implements the external relations communications and campaign activities to position, promote and protect Suncorp Group’s brands, and to drive both the Group and functional strategy and goals.
About the role
As the Senior Media Advisor you will support the development and deployment of an effective brand building program that enhances and protects Suncorp Group’s reputation across all media channels.
Key Accountabilities
- Develop, implement and evaluate media plans in line with the Group and Customer Marketplace unit media strategy
- Lead a series of external communications programs, including multi-channel PR strategies incorporating traditional and digital media activities
- Write and coordinate the distribution of media releases, speeches and briefing notes for external events and shareholder communications
- Provide media support for issues management to maintain a positive image for the Customer Marketplace function and Group
- Develop timely responses to media enquiries in consultation across operational areas and the Manager Media & Special Projects
- Leverage business insights, skills and abilities across the Corporate Affairs team to ensure that practices are highly efficient and effective
- Build and maintain trusted stakeholder relationships
- Support regional teams via media support for community events
- Support the complaints escalation process by ensuring a consistent approach is used to dealing with issues
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Media Studies, Communications, Journalism, PR, or business-related discipline Mandatory
- Solid experience in a similar role with extensive knowledge of media relations, communications principles, best practice and emerging trends and technologies
- Knowledge of media landscape across all platforms
- Proven experience in developing strategic media programs
- Be proactive and able work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
- High level of motivation and initiative
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
