This position plays a key role in developing, implementing and, where required, coordinating Council’s community engagement and social research program, including planning and delivering community engagement strategies, analysis and reporting functions, and the online engagement platform.
The ideal candidate will have:
- tertiary qualification in marketing, statistical research, psychology, community engagement or related discipline or other equivalent on-the-job experience
- international Association of Public Participation (IAP2) Certificate in Engagement
- drivers licence valid in Victoria
- the ability to work outside of standard business hours as required.
- ability to plan, develop, deliver and analyse community engagement to support the development of the Council Plan, Council Budget and other strategic documents and policies as required under the Local Government Act
- experience in developing, regularly reviewing and updating the Community Engagement Framework, policies, strategies and procedures
- demonstrated ability to provide strategic advice and support to the business in the development, implementation and reporting of Council’s community engagement activities
- proven experience in the full spectrum of engagement techniques, including deliberative engagement
- demonstrated understanding of the broader organisational, political and legal context and the sensitivities around stakeholder engagement
- ability to write a range of specialist research articles, policy and reports quickly, efficiently and with excellence
- track record managing multiple projects simultaneously and delivering on deadline to achieve the desired outcomes
- ability to collect, collate, analyse data and prepare high quality reports on research results that can help inform business outcomes.
