About Us

The Returned League and Services League of Australia WA Branch Incorporated (RSLWA) is Western Australia’s primary provider of well-being, welfare and advocacy for veterans, serving and ex-service members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and their family.

Another key element of RSLWA’s role is to conduct important commemorative events to mark the sacrifices and contributions made by men and women of the ADF.

Position Summary:

A historic event takes places on 11th November 2018 being the 100th anniversary of the day the guns fell silent on the Western Front, marking the end of the First World War. RSLWA will be holding a series of events and initiatives to commemorate and celebrate this significant event. We are seeking an energetic and creative campaign coordinator to assist with such activities. 

Role duties & responsibilities

1.  Lead role in organising, promoting & managing the  campaign components of Armistice Day, including:

  • Assist with the planning, execution and evaluation  of supporting events
  • Basic budget management
  • Stakeholder management
  • Event sponsorship negotiation and management
  • Prompt post-event administration & follow-up
     

2.  Research, identify and support new local community engagement opportunities.

3.  Accurate & timely support in communications (e.g. thank you letters, reminders & progress reports).

4.  Work with members of the community and subject matter experts to source and develop peer-to-peer fundraising events using offline and online fundraising avenues to raise fund for the Poppy Appeal.

5.  Undertake face-to-face meetings and presentations, in consultation of the  RSLWA Chief Marketing Officer  to work with volunteers and community groups (Rotary, Lions, Council, schools, Apex, Probus etc).

Qualifications and Expertise

  • At least three years’ experience in a similar role, reflecting excellent community fundraising business development skills.
  • Proven success in managing fundraising events.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Superior attention to detail, while maintaining creative flair and judgement.
  • Strong project and time management skills, including the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • The ability to adapt to varying work demands and to be flexible when required.
  • Positive & friendly attitude.
  • Strong customer-service focus and commitment.
  • Demonstrated organisational, administrative and financial management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication and negotiation skills.
  • Reasonable understanding of information technologies including CRM (Salesforce)
  • Experience in systems and online fundraising platforms (e.g. Everyday Hero)
  • Experience working in a NFP or community organisation (preferable)
  • Experience of working in a busy and high-pressured environment.
