About the Role
We have a newly created permanent opportunity available at Cochlear for a suitably qualified Corporate Communications Manager. In this role you will promote Cochlear and enhance the company’s brand and reputation by developing and executing a proactive corporate communications stratergy. The focus will include external communications support for hearing loss awareness, advocacy, corporate storytelling and thought leadership inititives as Cochlear builds its reputation and brand globally.
In this role you will provide the opportunity to work collaboratively with the Senior Corporate Communications & Brand Manager, as well as internal and external stakeholders.
Other responsibilities:
- Support the development and implementation of a proactive corporate communications strategy for Cochlear
- Provide support to company leaders and internal SMEs as spokespeople for corporate communication strategy
- Deal with media enquiries and preparation of media materials and Cochlear spokespeople to respond
- Liaise with PR/Communication agencies to assist with planning and implementation of corporate communication initiatives
- Actively support brand strategy and ensure corporate communications activities that align to positioning
- Act as a brand ambassador, educate and guide leaders, SMEs and regional communicators on brand guidelines and positioning
- Liaise with regional/country communicators to ensure execution of corporate opportunities in key markets
- Consider, plan and monitor reputational issues resulting from business and corporate communications activities
Minimum requirements:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, marketing and/or communications
- At least 5 years of experience in related corporate communications and corporate affairs role
- Relevant experience in strategic communications and media relations (traditional and social media)
- Demonstrated track record in reputation management for corporate brands
- Demonstrates exceptional communications and writing skills
- Demonstrates the ability to be proactive, and a team player
Ideal:
- Experience in large complex matrix organizations as well as regional and global marketing/ communications
- Relevant experience in healthcare
- Experience working in-house within corporate communications teams
