Formed in 2001, Aspen Group is an ASX listed property group strategically focused on providing “value for money” accommodation. Our client, currently has a number of holiday and accommodation parks operating, as well as active retirement properties and workforce accommodation. They also have an active acquisition program underway to expand our portfolio.

This key role within the business is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining marketing and distribution strategies across our portfolio.

With a decentralized approach to our marketing and distribution, you will be working with each of the property’s management teams to achieve outcomes for each individual property. We want you to work alongside each of the properties to really understand what they can offer to the market. With our diverse portfolio and multiple locations, you will bring your national expertise, with an understanding as to how to best maximize ROI at each property.

We are looking for someone with a wealth of experience and an innate curiosity to understand future trends and distribution methods to keep us ahead of the game in our industry.

The key areas of focus for the role are:

  • Strategic Planning – you will own the Marketing and Distribution Plan for Aspen Group, ensuring each individual property has a tailored plan in line with the overall strategy. This also includes measuring the effectiveness and ROI of each plan and working with key stakeholders to achieve maximum results. Of course, we need you to formulate and oversee the budget for your function as part of the strategy.
  • Distribution and Sales – we have a number of distribution channels and we want to ensure we are engaging in the best strategies for our business. Your creativity and industry knowledge will be well received to forward plan and implement sales initiatives through the year. 
  • Advertising and Branding – from traditional advertising to social media, third party promotions to direct marketing we want the campaigns you develop to hit maximum exposure, positioning our properties as top customer choices. It goes without saying that the integrity of brand for both Aspen Group and the individual properties is paramount!

We will also look to you to provide guidance on customer relationship and reputation management, public relations and stakeholder management with key industry bodies and associations.

We are looking for a superstar who encompasses the Aspen Group brand and has the following expertise in Marketing:

  • Tertiary qualified in a marketing or business discipline
  • Demonstrated experience at a senior level, ideally within hospitality, accommodation, or retirement villages
  • Previous responsibility for setting marketing strategies, formulating and monitoring budgets
  • Possesses an entrepreneurial approach and experience in the formation and execution of tactical campaigns, sales promotions and publicity
  • Experience developing distribution strategies across a number of channels
  • Diverse marketing and advertising portfolio, across traditional, digital and social mediums
  • Demonstrated results in improving SEO, and implementing SEM campaigns, working knowledge of CRMs

Technical skills and qualifications are only part of what the role entails, you will also need to demonstrate the following attributes:

  • An action oriented approach to your role! We want someone full of energy who has an obvious passion for achieving results!
  • A good balance of commercial business acumen and innovation – you will love bringing new ideas to the table and have a thirst for new trends, at the same time, understanding the industry and market and how this may affect our initiatives
  • As this role works heavily with our property managers, you will need to be able to motivate others, creating a climate for individuals to learn, grow and achieve.
  • Whether it’s internal or external, having a strong customer focus is a non-negotiable to achieve in this role
