We’re looking for an exceptional and creative Social Media Coordinator who fits into our tech-savvy, forward thinking team of digital marketers. Reporting to our Social Media Manager, you will help deliver our ambitious social media strategy in line with our global and local brand and content strategies, supported by a dedicated digital content producer and our broader content team. You will be passionate about utilising emerging digital trends, continuous testing, learning and optimisation across social media platforms and working in a supportive, high performance team.

Where you come in:

In this full-time permanent position based in our head office in Carlton, you will work on delivering Save the Children Australia’s social media strategy, including recommending, creating, posting and measuring relevant content to meet agreed objectives. You will be part of our Digital team within our Marketing and Innovation Department and report to our Social Media Manager.

You will make an impact by:

  • Supporting the integration of digital campaigns, fundraising, advocacy, programs and events into Social Media and Save the Children websites (where necessary)
  • Identifying and developing digital initiatives to drive engagement of Social communities
  • Maintaining close working relationships with key internal stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to social media communications planning
  • Developing and refining community engagement best practices, content plans and reporting
  • Providing ongoing feedback to internal teams on social media industry trends, issues, and interest

…You are relentlessly inquisitive with a creative and strategic mind. You are knowledgeable about world issues, excited by growing social media communities and using analytics to reach meaningful insights. You will be outcome focussed, highly organised and confident switching between in-depth data research and collaborative creative environments.

This role requires:

  • Skills in editing of content for use online (copy, photos, video)
  • Exceptional social media skills, with demonstrated understanding of social media and the online space and how this integrates with traditional marketing
  • Demonstrated understanding of SEO and SEM
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
