About the role:

This role is responsible for working within our events team to plan, schedule and deliver Council’s flagship events. This will involve contributing to the development and implementation of Event Strategies that align with Council’s Delivery Program. You will work closely with all members of the team to remain abreast of event planning, theming, programing, compliance and stakeholder relations. You will work to gain or build upon existing partnerships with internal stakeholders, community organisations, businesses and other government departments and agencies to enhance and grow the reputation of the city’s flagship events program. Our team member’s work closely together and are encouraged to actively seek opportunities to cross skill and gain exposure in all areas of event management. Council places a large emphasis on safety, so you will undertake all tasks whilst complying with WHS protocols and procedures. 

This role will have lead responsibility for:

  • Researching, presenting and sourcing performers, activities, hosts and demonstrators for inclusion in event programs
  • Managing production and audio visual requirements for performers and activities
  • Developing event theming and styling plans in conjunction with the broader team
  • Facilitating partnerships with community organisations and groups to develop event content and activities to achieve mutually beneficial goals 
  • Managing event catering requirements
  • Developing speaker notes and scripts for event MC’s and presenters

About you:

This role is seeking someone who can make order from chaos, managing multiple complex projects at once. With degree level qualifications in event management (or equivalent experience/training), you will have demonstrated experience in delivering large scale event programs. You will be someone with an eye for detail who can pull together a range of programing and theming elements into one contemporary and cohesive program. Your ability to continuously improve efficiencies, operate within defined budgets and timeframes to meet targets in a success driven environment will see you gain traction and succeed in the role.

Benefits:

This is a permanent full time role with a salary range of $75,603 up to $83,920 per year based on demonstrated competencies + 9.5% p.a. super.
