What’s on offer

An exciting opportunity has become available to lead and develop the Corporate and Community Relations capability within our organisation. The Manager Corporate and Community Relations is responsible for positioning Fremantle Ports with its external stakeholders to ensure the organisation has the support required to achieve its strategic objectives. By leading the development and implementation of engagement strategies, the position is a key influencer with external stakeholders, including government and industry bodies, the Fremantle, Kwinana and other communities, and the media.

Reporting to the General Manager Business Development and Risk Management, you will increase Fremantle Ports’ reputational standing through stakeholder relationships and partnerships that deliver beneficial commercial and community outcomes, and raise awareness of Fremantle Ports’ operations, values and corporate direction. Your primary area of responsibility will be leading the development, strategic alignment and implementation of Fremantle Ports’ stakeholder positioning strategy, with further responsibility for managing our:

  • Stakeholder liaison program
  • External publications
  • Websites and social media platforms
  • Development of promotional materials
  • Corporate branding
  • Community sponsorship program
  • Stakeholder surveying and monitoring of other performance indicators

The role will also support other parts of the business, by providing advice and support on internal corporate communications and customer relationship management, marketing and communications.

The strategic importance of this role is reinforced by the organisation’s vision to become Australia's best maritime gateway which includes driving stakeholder engagement, growing the business and adding value for existing and potential customers and the community. The appointee to this position will play a leading role in realising that vision.

About You

Your high level understanding of and extensive experience in public relations and stakeholder management at a senior level within a medium/large organisation will be essential.

To be successful in this role you will have experience in strategic stakeholder engagement, including liaison, communications, branding and online marketing. You will also possess excellent public speaking, interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to relate to and communicate with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
