POSITION PURPOSE

The Product Marketing Manager role will focus on promoting IDP’s new Student Essentials Services business. Student Essentials is aimed at delivering value add services such as health insurance, student banking, accommodation, career readiness services and more to differentiate IDP’s student placement offerings.

  • Manages resources and relationships across the network to ensure successful acquisition, cross sell and fulfilment of Student Essentials products for international students studying in Australia.
  • Leverages the Student Essentials Community of Best Practice group to introduce new product concepts, ensure alignment with regional student requirements and company’s goals.
  • Optimises the time and costs associated with releasing new products
  • Assesses market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products.
  • Utilise market research data; reviewing costs; anticipating volume; assessing financial viability of products to support product pricing decision making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and enhance customer value proposition for existing Student Essentials offerings using simple, educational and customer relevant language
  • Provide a clear positioning of Why buy from IDP, aligned to strategic goals and marketplace positioning as “the number 1 marketplace for connecting students to relevant services and communities that support their study and career success”.
  • Develop sales scripts for network countries
  • Liaise with Marketing team and network countries for development of marketing and sales materials
  • Leverage network knowledge to identify gaps and customer pain points in the market
  • Develop MVPs to address those needs/pain points
  • Assist with the preparation of business cases
  • Continually look for process improvements and cost efficiencies
  • Product strategy

    • Assist with yearly product strategy to support portfolio growth
    • Assist with the development of product roadmap and timeline
    • Implement the agreed initiatives
    • Assist with sales forecast by channels
  • New product development

    • Manage end-to-end new offering/product launches
    • Develp and deliver training
    • Create T&Cs
    • Develop and execute marketing communication plan (internal and external)
  • Product maintenance

    • Regular review of product offerings competitiveness
    • Continuous value add development to support IDP unique offerings proposition as a differentiator
  • Exiting product

    • Yearly product life-cycle review
    • Identify offerings that are not meeting customer needs
    • Manage end-to-end retiring offering processes from the market
  • Monthly management report

    • Ensure monthly management report is delivered on time and accurate
    • Develop sales dashboard to monitor sales against budget
    • Support monthly sales briefing with network countries
  • Own all product contents used through IDP mediums (e.g. online, printed collateral etc)
  • Manage product contents though all mediums, ensuring accuracy and consistency of value proposition/brand promise
  • Assist with the development and update product training materials, FAQ
  • Contact point for technical aspects when resolving complaints
  • Liaise with Student Essentials champions to manage and monitor internal communication.
  • Assist with yearly review and development of distribution strategy to enhance end-to-end customer experience and support portfolio growth
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders to implement cross sell initiatives (based on customer journey) and monitor delivery
  • Create the marketing plan for the products relevant to business partners/vendors
  • Implement the above via various channels (network, online and call centre)
  • Maintain the relationship, operating as the key liaison between IDP and business partners/vendors
  • Conduct regular meetings with business partner at least monthly
  • Monitor results to measure growth of the portfolio relevant to business partners/vendors
  • Liaise with business partners/vendors to develop and coordinate product updates, promotions and network communications

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 3+ years in product marketing, category manager or market manager experience in comparator business or services industry such as accommodation, tour and travel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including competent presentation skills, ability to interpret, articulate sometimes complex matters in a clear and concise manner
  • Must have the ability to work autonomously, be self-motivated and a strong team player
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Business/Marketing Degree or Post Graduate Qualification
  • Marketing communications experience
  • Experience in developing innovation offerings or have worked in a start-up company
  • Experience in data analysis, modelling and sales forecast
  • Project management experience with the ability to manage internal and external stakeholders to deliver initiatives timely
  • Experience in developing and delivering training to front line staff (in a culturally diverse background)
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of the international education market
  • International experience and able to work with people from different cultural background. IDP is a multinational organisation with market presence in 20 plus countries
