Senior Media Advisor role for a reputable education institution. CBD location, fixed term contract.

Your new company
This reputable Tertiary Education institution is seeking a Senior Media Advisor to join one of the executive office to act as the primary point of contact for issues, crises and manage of reputational risk. This is a parental leave cover, fixed term contract opportunity.

Your new role
Reporting to the Director of Communications, you will develop and execute communication and media strategies to protect and enhance the institutions reputation. Your role is also responsible for developing a thought leadership strategy for senior executives to engage with key external stakeholders, pushing these out to key media contacts, as well as a variety of owned and earned channels.

You will develop high-level media and communication advice and strategies for a diverse range of stakeholders, from executives, to academic divisions and professional staff.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have demonstrated experience managing reputational risk through high-level judgement, effective media management and effective communication coordination of crises and issues of complexity or sensitivity. You will have a keen eye to identify opportunities to contribute to national and international media, and the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with state, national and international journalists, bloggers and tertiary education writers.
