Researcher – Power Retail

Leading e-commerce industry media resource Power Retail is looking for an experienced researcher to build qualitative and quantitative insights on the fast-paced digital retail market, to advance industry improvement and catalyse growth in the e-commerce economy.

E-commerce is the fastest growing sector of retail, and Power Retail is extremely well-placed to capitalise on the next digital shopping boom with an engaged audience of this region’s leading e-commerce professionals. Established in 2010 and enjoying sustained success, Power Retail is now entering its second stage of development with investment in technology, resources and data to create a best-of-breed intelligence resource for the e-commerce sector.

We're looking for a commercially-savvy researcher with experience in building surveys, collecting data, analysis and reporting.

 

About the role

This new role is full-time, based in Melbourne and reports to the Director of Data and Content. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated researcher to create positive impact on the e-commerce economy and bring valuable insights to the market.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Execute an ongoing series of consumer and business research projects based on e-commerce industry needs analysis
  • Preparation and scripting of surveys for consumer, retailer and technology supplier panels as required
  • Engage internal customers and stakeholders in the design and execution of research to support business unit objectives
  • Collect data, analyse data and create quality research-based reports with insights and recommendations for internal and external customers with a focus on e-commerce
    Support the execution of the overall research program of work to deliver interconnected BAU and project outcomes aligned to the strategic goals of HCF
  • Develop and maintain high quality research and reporting standards, and organisation of research data
  • Manage software and technology required to deliver best-of-breed research materials
  • Provide creative input into research projects and strategic direction for delivering data and research products for the e-commerce industry

 

Skills and Requirements

Working out of our new head office in Melbourne, candidates must be an Australian resident with the following minimum qualifications and attributes:

  • Have 3+ years market research experience, ideally in a research agency, with hands on quantitative and qualitative research project management, data analysis/insight generation and quality research presentation preparation.
  • Excellent written communication skills, analytical skills and ability to turn raw data into meaningful insights and decision-making tools
  • Effective at multi-tasking and able to manage time, cost and quality to achieve great client satisfaction
  • A motivated self-starter that can also work well in a cohesive team
  • An endless curiosity and an appetite for growth and having impact on the market
  • Good hands-on knowledge of SPSS, Q or similar.
