About the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital
The Lady Cilento Children's Hospital (LCCH), which opened on 29 November 2014, is Australia's largest and most advanced paediatric facility. Located in South Brisbane, the 359-bed hospital features more than 80,000 square meters of facilities spread across 12 levels.
As Queensland's single specialist paediatric facility, Children's Health Queensland's (CHQ) at the LCCH is the hub of a dedicated network of paediatric services available at other Brisbane and Queensland hospitals. Expanding on CHQ's state-wide remit, the LCCH also supports regional hospitals through telemedicine and outreach services. This means children and young people can access the services they need as close to home as possible.
The hospital precinct includes the Centre for Children's Health Research, the Children's Hospital Foundation, Ronald McDonald House South Brisbane (opened in 2016) and a new Adolescent Drug and Alcohol Withdrawal Service building.
How you can contribute:
The Senior Director, Communications and Engagement is a critical leadership position to drive proactive and strategic management of CHQ's media, marketing and communications activity.
Working with executive and senior leaders you will be accountable for all internal and external media, marketing and communications activities and continuing to build CHQ's brand internally and in state, national and international markets positioning CHQ as leaders in health services for children and young people.
You will lead and manage media engagement proactively and issues in a response-ready and professional manner. A significant part of the role will be to build a proactive and responsive public relations capacity within CHQ.
With children's health constantly evolving you will be a leader in this area of expertise and bring a bold and innovative approach to media, marketing and communications ensuring CHQ's brand and profile is contemporary and reflects the strategic vision. You will lead and manage your media, marketing and communications teams to design, manage and deliver clinical and corporate events showcasing CHQ's brand and value proposition in children's health services.
You will bring to this significant task your extensive relevant communications and stakeholder management experience, high order capacity building and superior communication and analytical skills. You will be a strong manager and strategic thinker who engenders trust and respect, and relishes the challenge of operating in a complex environment. Your leadership and stakeholder management skills will be complemented by your sound judgement, intellectual rigour, resilience and integrity.
