The Australian Medical Association (WA) (AMA) invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced professionals for a position in its Communications Department.
The AMA (WA) has over 5,000 members and provides a high level of service and support to the medical profession.
Reporting to and working with the Director of Communications responsibilities include:
AMA (WA) website development, updating and maintenance
Assist in the development of the Associations electronic communications platform, including social media, twitter and blog posts
Assist with the public relations requirements of the Association
Prepare and deliver various daily, weekly and other regular electronic communications
Coordinating the production of the of the Association’s fortnightly on-line e-newsletter and assisting in the production of the monthly journal Medicus
Writing articles for publications – electronic or Medicus
Producing communication materials in consultation with internal and external stakeholders and for member conferences/events
Design work (promotional flyers, conference posters/banners, website graphics)
It is envisaged that the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
A tertiary qualification in communications, journalism, public relations or a related field
A minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience working in a media/communications position focusing on both digital and traditional media
Experience in developing and implementing communications plans for across a range of online, social ad print media channels
Digital content creation and implementation experience
Exceptional written communication skills
Experience working with the WordPress Content Management System
Photographic skills
Ability to work to timeframes within a dynamic environment
Based in Nedlands, this position offers an exciting opportunity for a person with the background and experience outlined above. The position commences as soon as possible.
