Project Manager, Industry Support

  • $95,275 - $115,276 (Plus Superannuation)
  • Fixed Term - 18 Months
  • Usual hours of work: Full Time (flexibility may be available)
  • Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne (flexibility may be available)

The Project Manager, Industry Support works within the Tourism, Events and Visitor Economy Branch (TEVE) of the Creative and Visitor Economies Division.  This role is an opportunity for an experienced communication professional to make a positive impact across the visitor economy sector. 

Reporting to the Manager, Industry Sustainability, this role will engage with the visitor economy sector to provide targeted assistance and communications support. 

This is a challenging and dynamic role which will focus on the implementation of key reforms that were identified in the State Government's Small Business Regulation Review (Visitor Economy), especially relating to tourism road signage. 

The Project Manager will be responsible for: 

  • Management of all the Tourism, Events and Visitor Economy Branch (TEVE) communication activities such as media releases, website material and development of key stakeholder relationships, including external groups.
  • Development of a communication strategy and online tourism portal and management of supplier contracts, especially related to tourism road signage.
  • Project Management, including management of the steering committee and project risk mitigation. 

The successful applicant will need to have experience in developing and implementing multi-channelled communications related projects.  Additionally, applicants will need: 

  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to problem solve and provide advice and solutions
  • To be proactive and able to work within in an environment that works to strict timelines

Ideally, applicants will have knowledge of the tourism industry, preferably in small business practices.
