Are you an inspirational sales leader with a strong digital and content marketing experience who is seeking a challenge? Do you thrive on using your deep expertise in sales and digital growth to play a pivotal role in helping to rapidly grow an exciting challenger brand?

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is both creative and analytical, and who is all about execution.  You will lead the innovation and delivery of marketing, sales and service using digital, social, direct and partner channels.  

Evari is an exciting new insurance platform and distribution business enabling small businesses to pay for the insurance they use.  Evari is a mobile first, cloud-based insurance platform offering fully digital, tailored insurance focussed at the SME sector, including trade persons,  cafes, restaurants and small retailers; with more to come!

Evari operates as both an insurance business and a technology business (an “insurtech”), and has an Australian Financial  Services Licence (AFSL) to sell insurance in Australia.

The right candidate will lead a dynamic and growing team of highly motivated people working to deliver innovative outcomes for customers.

In a start-up, it is critical that the Head of Sales and Service can stretch beyond their role and assist the business with whatever needs to be completed.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Sales & Marketing - Evari Direct

  • Lead and deliver brand, marketing and digital strategies for revenue growth for Evari’s direct business in Australia, across all communication mediums
  • Accountable for the direct sales teams and sales pipeline
  • Drive growth through focused and deliverable action plans, and consistent evaluation of success metrics

2.  Operationalise Distribution Partnerships

  • Onboarding partners

  • Liaising with partners to optimise their performance

3.  Customer Service

  • Manage customer service contact centre (phone and digital) handling inbound sales, insurance claims calls/notifications, customer queries etc

Joint responsibilities include:

  • Design of products to meet customer needs, including continual refinement of our insurance products and customer experience

  • Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to improve the customer proposition

Key deliverables and activities include:

  1. Lead the marketing, sales and services teams to achieve revenue, customer service and retention goals

  2. Deliver exponential profitable growth in sales in Australia, along with strong retention of existing customers

  3. Design, implement and enhance scalable lead generation strategies

  4. Lead the design, implementation & enhancement of marketing automation to execute in-bound marketing programs, measure and report on campaign and business objectives (including leads generated, CPL, MQLs, SALs, Demos, ROI, contribution to revenue)

  5. Identify, evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of various marketing channels, including but not limited to SEM, SEO, Display, Social, Affiliate, Radio and Content Marketing

  6. Work with distribution partners in Australia to deliver on growth, sales and service outcomes

  7. Prioritise and manage marketing budgets and spend

  8. Develop  and manage creative & digital marketing to project timelines

  9. Analyse and report on acquisition costs and performance of acquired traffic in regards to key metrics such as conversion rates, traffic, cost of acquisition, retention and lifetime value

  10. Experiment with new channels, techniques, and messaging to scale advertising spend as cost effectively and efficiently as possible

  11. Run conference and event management strategy to drive leads.

  12. Lead product launches

  13. Ensure sales and service are compliant with regulatory requirements

Other Duties

  1. As a key member of the Australian leadership team, contribute to a wide variety of activities across the business.

  2. Maintain the highest quality of staff through effective recruiting, hiring, retention, coaching, succession planning and training

  3. Work with the other team members to identify partnership opportunities and develop partner arrangements

  4. Forge strong collaboration between the (IT) Engineering and the Sales and Service teams

  5. Assist with the development of P&L’s budgets and forecasts

Mandatory Skills / Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrated capability to lead and inspire a sales team in a fast-paced, dynamic marketing and sales environment.

  2. Data driven digital marketing expertise at a leadership level (with a combination of sales, service and analytics experience)

  3. Experience across the full suite of consumer marketing disciplines for product marketing, digital marketing, social media, retail and channel marketing, marketing analytics, branding, events and partnerships

  4. Hands on experience with marketing automation, CRM and other critical demand generation technologies

  5. Proven ability to establish and nurture partner relationships

  6. Strong project management skills, accustomed to managing a budget and working within tight timelines

  7. Focussed on execution, and can work collaboratively in a highly dynamic environment

  8. Excellent analytical skills and a proven track record of analyzing campaign performance and identifying actionable insights to increase new customer acquisition

  9. Resilient and highly organized

  10. Flexible and adaptable

  11. Ability to both see the bigger picture and manage the detail

Other desirable skills & experience Requirements

  1. Minimum 5 years proven experience in a marketing management role in SaaS or E-Commerce environment.

  2. Natural curiosity and desire to improve business processes, product and services for the benefit of all stakeholders

  3. Personal commitment to continuously learning

  4. Experience in financial services or similar regulated industries

  5. Experience partnering to build a consumer brand, one reliant on software innovation

  6. Experienced in the recruitment and selection of talent

  7. Hands on creative skills in digital design, photography or similar
