About the Role:
We are currently looking for a Stakeholder Relations Principal to lead the development and implementation of contemporary and technically sound stakeholder relations services for our WA region, based in our Perth CBD office.
In this role, you will be a key advisor to the AEMO WA Leadership team, and lead stakeholder relations direction and engagement by facilitating the development and implementation of stakeholder management activities for Western Australia. This will be in line with project work, including energy market reform, and BAU ensuring alignment to the AEMO strategic direction, brand identity and values.
Key accountabilities:
- Lead and coordinate the delivery of stakeholder management, customer advocacy, and external communications functions/ forums
- Support consultative relations with the WA Department Leadership team and related Government departments and key stakeholders to maximise outcomes in achieving energy market reform and AEMO objectives
- Support communication of AEMO’s energy market roadmaps in setting out a longer term (5 year) strategy for energy market reform
- Monitor and advise on policy, regulatory, and legislative changes which may impact on AEMO’s operations and support the preparation of submissions and engagement activities to positively influence and proposed changes
Required skills and experience:
- Appropriate tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications in a relevant discipline
- At least 5 or more years in a similar role in a senior capacity
- Demonstrated stakeholder engagement experience in implementing key reforms in complex environments
- Knowledge and understanding of the operation of an energy market, regulatory framework and industry structure
- Demonstrated experience in complex stakeholder relations environments with the ability to navigate and lead stakeholder consultative processes on complex, technical, commercial or regulatory issues
- Demonstrated presentation and outstanding communications skills (written and verbal)
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and challenge issues to influence desired outcomes
- Experience in working collaboratively within matrix management environments
- Resilience and strong work ethic
